In the Summer of 2009, Victor Rallo visits Il Vecchio Mulino, a restaurant on the Island of Sardinia in the town of Arzachena (approximately 7 kilometers from Porto Chervo). As the owner of Basil T’s Brewery & Italian Grill in Red Bank, New Jersey, Victor travels to this Italian restaurant in search of new and innovative aspects to the authencity of it all.
Il Vecchio Mulino is one of Victor’s favorite eating places in all of Italy. The authentic homemade Italian cuisine was spectacular as they used the freshest local ingredients available. The Original Basil T’s in Red Bank New Jersey also lives by this authentic cuisine dedication as they are known for being a restaurant “where fresh is fresh” and “homemade is really homemade”!
Just like Victor’s Red Bank Original Basil T’s Italian restaurant, Il Vecchio Mulino cooks their pizza in an open wood flame pizza oven to produce a pie with exceptional flavor. This is truly a mark of authenticity in terms of Italian pizza creation.
Victor Rallo also makes mention of a great wine cellar at Il Vecchio Mulino, featuring mostly Sardinian wines. At Basil T’s in Red Bank one will be sure to find wines from Sardinia after browsing the wine list.
